Stained glass artist Hali Kalae Miller was born into an arts family and raised in the arts community of Port Townsend, Washington. Her mother, a watercolorist, designed newspaper pages and ads. Her father is a fiction writer and poet, her husband is a musician.
Hali learned design and color at the light tables of a weekly newspaper, the letterpress of a poetry publisher, and premier visual workshops of the arts foundation, Centrum. Hali’s college work included videography and TV news production. She is a native Hawaiian who supports women artists, indigenous art and kindness. Alice Glass Studio nestles in the woods just outside Port Townsend.
Daedra Kalae is a jewelry artist with a specialization in custom wire wrapping. She began her journey in the craft while working for James Michelle Jewelry in Bend, Oregon. Now splitting her time between Bend and Port Townsend, Washington, Daedra creates distinctive pieces that reflect her connection to both places. She is currently sharing the studio at Alice and is the friendly face representing Alice Studio at markets this summer. Stop by the booth and say 👋🏼 if you're in Port Townsend!
